Our host, Maria Rooney, has been the owner and operator of Silver Creek Lambscapes since 1986. Based in the Silverton, Oregon, SCL is a progressive and innovative sheep operation, running 200 head of New Zealand Coopworth, naturally colored and white Romney, and Horned Dorsets.

With a commitment to rigorous selection standards and the use of top-quality rams and artificial insemination genetics, Maria has consistently focused on producing superior wool quality, optimal growth, and high productivity.

Her Romney flock, in particular, has gained a national reputation for its competitive success in the show ring.

Beyond her operation, Maria has been an active leader in the industry, serving on multiple sheep boards as well as the Oregon Forage and Grassland Council.
