Fred Provenza, professor emeritus at Utah State University, is part of the BEHAVE team. BEHAVE principles, based on 30 years of research:
- If we understand how animals learn, we can train the animals to fit the landscapes instead of changing the landscape to fit the animals.
- Animal behavior is flexible and responds to consequences. Managers can change animal behavior. Desired behaviors, once learned, are passed from mother to offspring.
- Animals can be trained in the right behaviors to fix land management problems. This tends to be good for the environment and the animals.
- By managing animals for the desired behavior, the need for expensive machinery, fossil fuels, and toxic herbicides can be reduced.

Online registration will close Sunday, May 7. We will accept walk-in registrations.
Regular registration, both days: $267

Cancellation/Refund Policy
If you register and can not attend, you may send a substitute. Please let us know if you are sending a substitute. You may cancel before April 17 and receive a refund of the amount you paid, less a processing fee of $25. If you need to cancel after April 17, we can refund 50% of your registration fee or you may send a substitute. No refunds if you cancel after April 26, but you may send a substitute.
